The rules of the race.

The M double-clutch transmission (DCT) Drivelogic in the BMW M3 Coupé.

Taking your breath away but not your speed, the optional M DCT Drivelogic double-clutch transmission transfers engine power to the road without the slightest disruption to tractive force. With two transmission structures the system is able to switch simply between the two, thus providing constant power to the rear wheels. Gears can be changed without the transmission of power being interrupted using either the paddles, shift lever or automatic mode for even more dynamic comfort. 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4.6 seconds, two tenths of a second faster than the manual transmission.

The M DCT Drivelogic uses two transmission structures. Second, fourth and sixth gears are assigned to one structure, and first, third, fifth and seventh to the other. When you switch up or down, the system simply switches between the two. So while one gear is being disengaged, the next is already in position. By overlapping the clutch and declutch, the transmission of power remains uninterrupted. Six manual and five automatic programs allow you to access the whole spectrum of gear behaviour, from dynamic and pure to harmonious and comfortable.
